Christopher Martin

Christopher Martin, originally from Los Angeles, has lived and worked in Asia since 1994, at first Hong Kong for 8 years and now Singapore for 12 years. From 1994 until 2005, Mr. Martin held various senior investment banking positions at The Industrial Bank of Japan, Limited and its successor entity Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd in the area of project advisory and finance. He led numerous teams in advising large and reputable private and public sector sponsors as well as leading lead capacity lending teams surrounding large scale energy and infrastructure projects. These projects largely entailed landmark developments in the areas of power generation, liquid natural gas (LNG), petrochemicals, and mining across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand.From 2005 until 2013, Mr. Martin served as Managing Director of Project Development and Investment for the Singapore based wholly-owned investment subsidiary of ORIX Corporation, a leading Tokyo-headquartered financial services and investment firm. At ORIX Mr. Martin lead various teams in the area of private equity investment in energy and environmental, resources, infrastructure, and heavy manufacturing companies throughout Southeast Asia and India. In addition to the origination and execution of private equity investments, his experience here includes various investee board of director and investment committee roles. Mr. Martin holds a BA in Political Economy of Industrial Societies from the University of California at Berkeley (1989).
