Tim Marple

Tim Marple is an Intelligence Analyst with Google focused on identifying and mitigating geopolitical risks associated with the service. I earned my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley (2022), and my B.A. (2016) and M.A. (2017) in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

His research broadly focuses on dynamics of regulatory decision-making and uncertainty in international political economy, with methodological focuses on quantitative research, survey experiments, and social network analysis. I have published research on topics ranging from the role of social distance in regulatory advocacy at the SEC, to homophily among central bankers during the 2008 crisis. My dissertation research focused on the political economy of cross-border strategic interaction in central bank digital currencies.
